Team Telecom

Overview

Team Telecom—a multi-agency body consisting of the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and Defense—reviews certain Federal Communications Commission (FCC) applications and licenses for national security and law enforcement risks based on the applicant’s reportable foreign ownership. The interagency committee executes risk assessments and recommends to the FCC whether to accept licenses to operate in the United States.

Our firm is experienced in guiding clients through all stages of the Team Telecom review process, including submitting detailed information about the proposed transaction, responding to agency requests for additional information, and negotiating mitigation agreements when necessary. With our comprehensive understanding of national security considerations and Team Telecom procedures, we help our clients achieve their strategic objectives while remaining compliant with U.S. national security regulations.
