Marashlian & Donahue, PLLC, The CommLaw Group is thrilled to welcome Susan Duarte as our newest partner. Susan brings over 20 years of deep expertise in legal matters, including her impressive tenure as Director and Senior Corporate Counsel at T-Mobile, one of the nation’s leading mobile network operators. In her new role, Susan will head The CommLaw Group’s Marketing, Privacy, and AI Law Practices, providing unmatched insight and leadership at the intersection of emerging technologies and complex regulatory landscapes. Susan’s experience in navigating FTC regulations, state consumer protection laws, and rules under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) will be invaluable to our Marketing Law Practice. Her focus will be on guiding clients through the intricacies of advertising regulations, truth-in-advertising compliance, and digital marketing, including social media regulations and influencer agreements.

Moreover, Susan’s Privacy Law expertise will enhance our ability to advise clients on complying with stringent state privacy regulations, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA), and the growing web of privacy laws being adopted across the United States. Susan’s broad experience ensures that our clients, ranging from small businesses to large corporations, will be equipped to navigate these evolving privacy standards while protecting their customers’ data and maintaining compliance with global privacy frameworks.

The AI Law Practice will also benefit from Susan’s leadership as she helps clients address the legal risks and regulatory challenges posed by artificial intelligence technologies. As AI continues to revolutionize industries, including telecom, health, and finance, Susan’s deep understanding of the ethical, operational, and legal implications will provide forward-thinking solutions to companies using AI in their products or operations.

Her time as in-house counsel has honed her ability to align legal advice with real-world business needs, making her uniquely capable of serving clients in a way that is practical, strategic, and innovative. This includes advising companies selling information and communications technologies as well as those leveraging these technologies for growth in the U.S. market.
