Having joined Marashlian & Donahue, PLLC, The CommLaw Group, nearly five years ago, Michal Nowicki has consistently demonstrated unwavering dedication, resilience, and an exceptional work ethic. Overcoming challenges unique to his experience as a legally blind professional, Michal’s journey is characterized by a remarkable commitment to surmounting obstacles and maintaining a “never say can’t” attitude.
In the highly specialized and complex field of telecommunications and technology law, success hinges on perseverance, patience, and a considerable degree of grit. Michal embodies these qualities. Michal’s expertise spans disability issues, with a notable emphasis on technology-related matters. His deep personal investment in the 21st Century Communications and Video Accessibility Act (CVAA) predates his tenure with our firm, showcasing his dedication as an advocate for widespread audio description implementation. Furthermore, Michal significantly contributes to our Dispute Resolution and Litigation, Emerging Technologies, and Commercial Law practices. He also undertook the challenge of mastering Telecom & Tech regulation in Canada, demonstrating a rapid evolution into the firm’s esteemed subject matter expert in Canadian affairs before the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).
Academically, Michal’s achievements are a testament to his capabilities. Graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a major in Spanish and a minor in Russian, he later earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. His experience includes valuable legal work with esteemed organizations such as the Chicago Transit Authority, the University of Illinois Foundation, and a U.S. magistrate judge.
Fluent in four languages, Michal leverages his linguistic skills along with personal and professional insights into Disability Accessibility technologies to cultivate a robust legal practice.
